Introduction

Need:
The purpose of this proposal is to improve the math fluency for fourth graders enrolled at Chapel Hill Elementary School. The focus of this proposal is to provide teachers will the tools to support teaching and learning in the areas of developing fluency in multiplication facts and division skills.

Audience:
Chapel Hill Elementary School is located in Douglas County. The Chapel Hill has a student population of 750. The break down of the student population as follows: 47.1% are Caucasian. 39.9% are African American. 4.9% are Latino and 2% are Asian American. The staff consists of 100 members. Thirty-three percent of the student population receives free or reduced lunch at Chapel Hill. There are approximately 50 special education students in various CRCT subgroups for testing. 3 special education classrooms, 2 MID, and 1 Severe and Profound. There are seven parapros for these rooms. There is also 1 speech teacher, 1 ed. evaluator, and 1 psychology evaluator. Teachers K-5 3 Administrators 2 Counselors 2 PE, 1 Art, 1 Music teacher 1 Co-teacher that works with 5th, K, & 3rd grades
